IT’S GIVING TUESDAY, DECEMBER 3!

The Tuesday after Thanksgiving has joined the holiday traditions as Giving Tuesday. This is YOUR reminder after Turkey, Stuffing, Pies and Black Friday to focus on the needs of on the needs of those less fortunate.  It’s also a great time to plan your end-of-year charitable contributions.

Pro Vita in Romania and the American Friends of Pro Vita (AFPVO) encourage you to include us in your charitable plans.

Romanian donations, both cash and in kind (foodstuffs, etc.) have not recovered to pre-Covid levels  Pro Vita continues to house and support the Ukrainian boys and girls living at Pro Vita’s residences, attending Romanian schools, learning the Romanian language and assimilating into the loving family culture of Pro Vita.  They also are growing teenagers who need larger clothes and shoes, lots of healthy food, new glasses, and medical support. Pro Vita has had to add additional staff to support the larger number of residents, also increasing their operating budget.

The needs of the Romanian community have NOT diminished but our Ukrainian “cousins” have added to the financial strain Pro Vita is experiencing since Covid and the arrival of Ukrainian refugees.

We applaud our sustaining givers like Wendell B., Narcis A., and Ho K.  We encourage all of our supporters to put AFPVO on your holiday giving lists.

The Board will match all December donations from prior donors dollar for dollar and ALL FIRST TIME DONORS WILL BE MATCHED 2 TO 1 up to $2500.00! Please donate whatever you can - as always 100% of your donation goes to Pro Vita as the AFPVO Board absorbs all administrative expenses.

Onto the Good News: Fr. Sean’s medical treatments are having a positive effect and he is hoping to travel to Pro Vita for the New Year. Fr. Sean has left St. Stephen's and St. Agnes after more than 20 years in the Religion Department and accepted a new position as Chaplain at St. Patrick's School (K-8) in NW Washington, D.C.

The entire Tanase Family is able to travel to the UK for Christmas with Melanie’s family for the first time now that the kids finally have  passports.  They are so-o-o-o excited.

HAPPY HOLIDAYS TO ALL, Stay tuned for the December Newsletter
